HÅG Office

HÅG Office is a web shop devoted to HÅG chairs, and it is not HÅG itself. The footer says "HÅG Office (Idyllic BV) is an independent reseller of HÅG products," and the site is operated by Idyllic BV. The FAQ says "we are based in Europe" and offers worldwide shipping, with shipping "free to many European countries" and exact costs calculated at checkout. The default storefront shows Swiss francs, and a country selector switches currency for a long list of territories. For orders from outside Europe, the site says the price shown does not include VAT and the buyer pays any import taxes, customs duties or fees on arrival. The shop runs in English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian and Polish, and its footer links to FAQ, contact, shipping, order tracking, business clients, returns and warranty pages.

The Capisco range

The Capisco saddle-seat chair is the reason this shop belongs in an active sitting list, and the home page leads with "HÅG Capisco 40 Years of success." The 8106 product page says Norwegian designer Peter Opsvik created the chair in 1984 and that "it encourages movement instead of a fixed posture." The shop lists six Capisco models: the Capisco Puls 8010 at CHF 435.00, the Capisco Puls 8020 at CHF 480.00, the Capisco 8105 stool at CHF 481.00 (marked down from CHF 742.00), the Capisco 8106 at CHF 914.00, the Capisco 8126 at CHF 1,165.00 and the Capisco 8107 at CHF 1,247.00. Prices are shown excluding taxes. The home page also announces new metallic frame shades for the Capisco and Capisco Puls, Moss Grey and Blush Rose. The FAQ explains the split: the Capisco has a fully upholstered back and seat, while the Capisco Puls has a plastic backrest and a partially upholstered seat, and adding the optional headrest turns an 8106 into an 8107.

The 8106 specification lists HÅG inBalance, which the site calls "balanced, flowing tilt function," adjustable backward tilt tension, seat height, seat depth and back height adjustment, a lockable seat and a five-star base. The 8105 is described as a stool with the saddle seat, inBalance tilt and seat height adjustment, suited to work surfaces 72 cm and higher, on an aluminium base that can be ordered polished.

Both are sold with a choice of 3 gas lifts, and the FAQ ties each to the user's height. The 150 mm lift gives a seat height of 41-54 cm and is for people up to 165 cm tall; the site says it is not suited to sit-stand desks and takes no footring. The 200 mm lift (47-65 cm) is recommended for people between 165 and 185 cm and works with standing desks. The 265 mm lift (56-79 cm) is for users taller than 185 cm or for fixed desks higher than 90 cm, where the shop advises a footring.

The shop also carries HÅG's other lines, Creed, Futu, Sofi, Tion and Conventio, plus accessories and spare parts. The Futu 1200-S is listed at CHF 728.00 with a choice of no armrests, 2D or 3D armrests, and a silver or black base.

Warranty, materials and certifications

The warranty terms are spelled out. The site gives a 10 year warranty for HÅG chairs "in normal use for up to 9 hours per day," with a maximum user weight of 110 kg unless otherwise specified. The shop says it can upholster a chair in any fabric on request.

On the Capisco's environmental record, the site says it was the first chair in the world to receive the Nordic Swan Ecolabel (2010), won the EU EPRO Award in 2015 for best recycled plastic product in Europe, and is made "with up to 50% recycled content." It lists Nordic Swan, Greenguard, Möbelfakta and an EPD to ISO 14025 as certifications, and says Flokk, HÅG's parent, is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

The brand story

The About page says HÅG was founded by Håkon Granlund in Oslo making tubular steel furniture, has made chairs in the former Norwegian mining town of Røros since 1957, and turned to ergonomic office seating after a near bankruptcy in 1975 under CEO Torgeir Mjør Grimsrud. It says HÅG became part of Flokk around 2007, and that "all HÅG chairs offered through our store are proudly produced in Røros."

Ordering and delivery
