Score is a Dutch manufacturer of work chairs and stools, and its homepage leads with the line "Almost 50 years of ergonomic expertise." The company, Score BV, is based at Lange Akkers 10 in Leek, the Netherlands, and the homepage says it "develops and produces ergonomically work chairs and accessories from our own factory in Leek." The site runs in English, Dutch and German, and every page carries the phone number and a link to the decision aid. Its self-description is broad: the homepage says Score's seating is found "in the office, in factories, hospitals, schools, sheltered workshops, cleanrooms, ESD rooms, laboratories, dental and doctor's offices, supermarkets, airports and many more workplaces where a good chair is necessary."

For this category, Score is interesting because much of its range is made for working at raised surfaces: sit-stand stools, saddle chairs and work chairs for labs, clinics and production lines, where a standard office chair sits too low.

Where it sells

Score sells mainly through dealers. The homepage says it "works nationally and internationally with a network of dealers," and adds that "there is always a Score dealer nearby." The site has a dedicated Dealer network page, and the ordering section is split into an ordering process for Score dealers and a separate order process for consumers, so private buyers are catered for as well. Contact is by phone on +31 (0) 594 55 40 00 or by email at info@scoreseating.com, and the ordering page offers a form to request advice from one of the company's seating experts.

The range

The product menu is organized two ways. By sector, it splits into Dental, Medical, Industry and Office. By product type, it lists saddle chairs, dental workchairs and (saddle) stools, medical chairs and stools, phlebotomy chairs, leg supports and arthrodesis products, the Score double leg support, work chairs, sit-stand stools, office chairs, mobility work chairs and footrests. The homepage highlights saddle chairs, the Score double leg support, office chairs, work chairs and footrests as its main groups.

The sector descriptions show what each line is built for. For dental work, Score says oral care professionals "have to deal with long-term precision work in difficult postures," and that the chair has to give the support needed for that. For medical settings, it mentions ergonomic saddle stools and "medical chairs including blood collection chairs." For industry, it says chairs "must be able to take a beating" and that Score's industrial chairs "have been specially developed for this purpose," adding, "And they're comfortable too!" A buyer looking for a taller chair or stool for a lab bench, a workshop counter or a standing workstation will find the relevant models among the work chairs, saddle chairs and sit-stand stools.

A Solutions menu then maps the range onto specific workplaces: care, veterinary, laboratories, ESD, cleanroom, vaccination locations, home office, beauty care, education and physiotherapy.

The vaccination page as an example

The vaccination locations page shows how Score presents a sector. It says the right chairs and stools make the vaccination process "safe and enjoyable" for staff and patients, and that staff often sit in the same position for a long time while vaccinating. The page goes on to make strong claims in the company's voice, including that its stools and chairs "promote circulation, respiration and digestion" and that staff get tired less quickly. Those are Score's own marketing statements; the page cites no study for them.

The practical detail on that page is more useful. It says the seating comes in various versions, with "soothing or cheerful colours of upholstery," and that buyers can choose "antibacterial, water- and dirt-repellent and fire-retardant material." It also mentions special upholstery that is easy to clean, which matters in any clinical or lab setting. The page offers a free trial placement on request.

Trial, custom work and support

Trying before buying is a recurring theme. The homepage sums up its case in four numbered points under "That's why experts in seating": craftsmanship from its own factory in Leek, a trial period, custom-made solutions, and a dealer that is always nearby. The homepage says Score "makes it possible to try the chairs without obligation" and tells interested buyers to ask their dealer about the possibilities. The customer service section lists trial placements, a showroom, own upholstery and maintenance and cleaning advice. The homepage adds that "at Score you can always get a suitable chair," with specialists to help find the right solution.

The delivery section lists Standard, Fast and Extended delivery programs, plus custom-made solutions for projects. The page says only that the company offers "various delivery programmes to meet your specific needs." The customer service section also has pages on warranty and conditions, repairs and spare parts, general conditions, Metaalunie conditions and a quality policy.

Tools and downloads

Score has a decision tool, which the site calls a "decision aid," meant to narrow the range down to the chair, stool or accessory that suits a given job. Products can be compared three at a time on the site. The downloads section is extensive: flyers, product datasheets, leaflets, brochures, manuals and operating instructions, assembly instructions, documentation for medical products, other documents and instructional videos. The About section includes pages on the company's history, its sustainability approach and its move "From 2D to designing in 3D."

The blog covers workplace topics, with recent posts dated September 2025 and earlier, such as how to create a healthy work environment, 5 alternatives to a leather office chair, how to set up a dental practice, and 5 ergonomic chairs for dentists and dental hygienists.

Who it suits

Score suits employers and professionals who need a work chair or stool for a specific job rather than a general office chair: a dentist or hygienist, a lab technician, a production worker at a raised bench, or a clinic setting up treatment rooms. The dealer model means buying usually starts with a conversation and, often, a trial, and the ESD, cleanroom and easy-clean upholstery options set it apart from consumer chair brands. A private buyer can order too, through the consumer ordering route.
