Progressive Desk is the furniture arm of Progressive Automations Inc., a company its About page says was founded in 2008 by Vlad Kovalyov and Ajay Arora to sell electric linear actuators. Progressive Desk arrived as a sister company in 2018, "Using the same actuator technology" to build electric standing desks, and a third sibling, Progressive Bed, applies it to bed frames. The About page says the group has "over 15 years of experience in manufacturing high-quality linear motion products", that its engineers design the products in-house, and that "we not only design and manufacture our products, but we also have our entire office working at standing desks". Its listed values run from "Find the Best Solution" to "Be Forward Thinking". The homepage badges read "Designed in Canada", "Industry-Leading 15-Year Warranty", and "ISO9001-Quality and Design", and one collection is headed "Maple Leaf Power: Canadian-Crafted Electric Standing Desks".

The .ca store shows prices in Canadian dollars. Its banner offers "Free shipping on orders $45 and above to the contiguous 48 United States and Canada", and visitors from outside Canada get a prompt asking whether they would rather shop on the American store. Taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout. Support runs through a toll-free line, 1-800-828-9414, and sales@progressivedesk.com, with office hours Monday to Friday, 5:30AM to 5:00PM PST. The site does not list showrooms.

The Glyder chairs

Seating is a short list. The Office Chairs menu names the Ergo Glyder and the Apex Glyder, and the Ergo Glyder page also points to a Pro Glyder in the same series. The search panel lists the "Apex Glyder - Fully Adjustable Ergonomic Office Chair" at $374.99 CAD. Chair mats sit alongside as seating accessories.

The Ergo Glyder (model ST-01-Black-Black) is the one with a full spec sheet. It sells for $249.99 CAD, and Progressive Desk calls it "the most fundamental addition to our chair range" and "our most inexpensive chair solution". It comes in black with a fabric seat and a mesh back. The specifications tab lists:

The product box says it "Ships within 24 hours". The spec sheet gives no weight capacity for the chair, so heavier buyers have nothing to check against. Customer reviews on the page total 8, with 6 at the top rating and 2 at the bottom; one reviewer calls the chair "Way too small" for his height, and the company replies by pointing buyers to the specification and resources tabs to check dimensions before ordering.

How the chairs are marketed

Progressive Desk leans hard on health language, and it is the company's. The chair category banner reads "Maintain good posture and relax by releasing muscle tension." The Ergo Glyder description calls it "the ultimate desk chair for back pain" and says it "has been designed to combat" back pain and bad posture. Monitor arms are sold with the line "Adjust your monitors to improve posture and reduce neck and shoulder strain." The site cites no study or clinician behind these claims, so read them as marketing.

Standing desks, which are most of the catalog

The desk range is where the company's actuator background shows. The Mini Ryzer small electric desk was $361.99 CAD against a regular price of $502.99 CAD during a back-to-school sale. Its spec sheet lists a 30" x 30" tabletop, a single motor with 3 column stages, a frame height of 23.1" to 48.6", a speed of 1.57"/sec, up to 4 memory positions, a weight capacity of 180 lbs, a 50dB noise rating, collision detection, a child lock, an install time of 10 mins, an 8-year warranty, and BIFMA, UL, and ISO 9001:2015 marks. Other desks in the search panel include the Solo Ryzer at $539.99 CAD, the Prime Ryzer, billed as an entry-level standing desk, at $377.99 CAD, and the Corner Ryzer Standard L-shaped desk at $774.99 CAD.

Tabletops come in solid wood (2 colors, for the Solo Ryzer), epoxy (2 colors), particle board (5 colors, including the 59" × 59" Corner Ryzer top), MDF laminate (9 colors, compatible with all standing desks), and carbonized bamboo (1 color, for the Economy Ryzer and Solo Ryzer), which the site says comes "with a 15-year warranty". The back-to-school sale offered "28% off standing desks and up to 50% off select items", and a separate promotion advertised 60% off epoxy desks. Accessories cover monitor arms (the Dual Monitor Arm DM-04-2 at $46.87 CAD), monitor risers and phone stands, cable management, power solutions, remotes, grommets, CPU holders, storage, lighting, and modesty panels.
